3D Figure Presentation
Objective: Students will create powerpoint presentation that details a three-dimensional figure.
Materials needed: Microsoft Powerpoint
Internet: to get a picture of the 3D figure
Gathering Information: You can get information on the 3D figure from your notes or book.
Powerpoint Slide Show
1. Open Microsoft Powerpoint
2. You will need a total of 5 slides
To insert slides: click “Insert”: “New Slide”
3. You can type in the boxes provided, or you can delete the boxes.
To insert a new text box: click “Insert”: “Text Box”
Use your mouse to create the box. Once you draw the box, you must type in it.
4. You can format the boxes
change the font for the whole box: click on the box and then change the font/size
change the font for a part of the box: highlight the part to change then change the font/size
change the size of the font
Depending on the size of the font, you may need to increase the size of the text box.
change the color
add animation: Click on the text box: click “Slide show”:”Custom Animation”
Click on the “Add Effect” box in the animation menu
The most common animation is for the entrance. Select the type of animation.
5. You need to insert a picture of your 3D figure in one of the slides
Open the internet: www.google.com
Click on the “images” link
Type in the type of picture you are looking for
Select the picture you want
Copy and paste it into your slide show
If the picture appears too big or small:
To change the size: Move the picture, so you can see the top left-hand corner
Hold the circle in the corner and drag it down (this changes the length and width)
Align the picture where you want it in the slide
To crop the picture (cut out parts of the picture):
Right click on the picture: Click “Show picture toolbar”
Click on the icon that looks like 2 x’s (crop icon)
Once in crop mode, the circles change to black angle marks
move the black marks in to cut the picture
If you cut too much, you can move the black mark back out
To get out of crop mode, click on the crop icon (the circles reappear)
6. To insert the small 2 for “squared”:
Type the problem using a regular 2. After the whole problem is typed, highlight the 2. Format: font: check the superscript box. This will make the 2 small and high. If your other text is still in superscript form, highlight the text: format: font: uncheck superscript.
7. Save the slide show under your student id number
8. On the internet, go to: www.gladewaterisd.com/login
I will come by and email your slide show to my email address

You will present your slide show to the class on February 23.
