- Northern District- Ninja Challenge May 20th
- Unable to get enough people for EPSIG Team to participate, plan on doing so next year
- UCF Grad Talk –
- Put something in the FPTA weekly update to join EPSIG and make a priority after Board Exams (maybe 07/26-27)
- Need to update PPT, specifically the Big/Little program slides > Amanda
- EPSIG Questionnaire – Is it working? How are we using the Results?
- Amanda – has not been sent to current members, 3 new members have completed the questionnaire
- Liz – can email link for new members
- Amanda – can post link to discussion board
- CariAnn – use questionnaire to build connections between all members
- Christine – not getting responses from emails to new members to be featured
- Email Yas to be interviewed for Facebook page
- Finalizing our Mission/Vision Statement Updates
- Plan to email out for revisions, present for finalization of statements at fall conference

- Mission:The EPSIG provides early professionals with a framework of mentorship, membership, leadership, professional development and networking to further engage them and develop the skills needed to be leaders in the physical therapy profession.
- Vision:The EPSG develops early professionals as members, mentors, leaders and practitioners as a strong network of active members as they transition from new graduates to established professionals that take the lead and inspire positive change in the physical therapy profession.
6. Tier Updates
- Membership (Nicole Nichols) – next EPSIG challenge? #jumpintopracticewithEPSIG
- Blurb ready for next meeting, plan to kick it off at the fall conference
- Mentorship (Amanda Williamson) –only 3 survey responses so far, will be more effective with current membership responses
- CariAnn: Already have an “ask EPSIG/need help?” Forum (Clinical Guidance); looking to facilitate discussions to post to Facebook page
- Professional Development (CariAnnLitz) – journal club goal to write down steps of how to do it and pass it off to someone in the future, looking for ideas for resources to develop or activities to do
- Leadership (Joshua Lewis) – FPTA Professional Association Leadership (PAL) mentorship program
- Josh: more students than young professionals present on how to deal with loans
- Liz: has access from Michelle on response surveys from the conference
- Josh: Leadership and Mentoring Committee is moving slowly, just got the mentee survey sent out and ready to go, enough mentors available and 2 weeks ago did not have any mentees signed up at that time
- CariAnn: are we sponsoring any events at the fall conference
- Josh: journey in my shoes at the fall conference (new biz)
- Networking (Jillian Carney) –
- conversations w/EPSIG chapters in other states,
- AZ just got it passed, would like to somehow share their experience on how to go in front of their board
- MA talks about getting started
- twitter account – working on as Jillian and Jamie are going to NEXT to build this account
- Working with Leiselle to have a TED talk inside the exhibit hall about EPSIG, how to be involved after graduation > will be tweeting about it
- Other topic: involvement for people with 20+ years in the profession

- Know any early professional going to the HOD? To better tweet about the event?

7. New Business
- PT/PTA Program representatives (Jamie Dyson) – grad talks – few more this month and 2 more in December, Liz needs someone in August at Northern district
- FPTA Slate of Candidates -
- Several new professionals on slate, nomination by petition on 06/24, voting from 07/18 - 08/17
- Will list EPSIG nominees on the EPSIG site
- Assembly representatives are listed on the district sites and will be posted by Liz soon!
- Renewal Year: FPTA Discounted Online Medical Errors Course -
- FPTA 2017 Annual Conference: Sept 14-17 Orlando, FL
- CariAnn: time to start hotel reservations, site is open
- Liz: finalizing early bird reservation and probably open by the end of next week
- Amanda: Facebook post for anyone that is going or might need a roommate, help by Jillian
- EPSIG Elections at Fall Conference – PTA director and Secretary (need application submitted via email to to run by end by July 30, announced at next Conf Call in July)
- CariAnn: looking to have a bio submitted with a running statement
- Jamie: recommends organizing a nominating committee or even a nominating chair because of the larger membership (approaching 100 members)
- Jamie: Director at Large is looking to join committees and task force while nominating committee is looking inside EPSIG
- Jillian: would love to help, hx of working on nominating committee
- Jamie: suggests between now and fall conference is to draw up proposal to the group and vote to move forward with the development of the nominating chair, vote to make it a bylaw change, and then have position available for running next year
- Josh: how to get more members engaged, larger than 10-15%
- Jamie: Advertise the meetings are available to any early professional, plan to have table in the exhibit hall, need to have someone at table during exhibit times

- Amy Cline is a former APTA board of director, at USF, from Massachusetts new to FL
- Barbara Connelly recently stepped down from chair of foundation, very involved, more on research side of things, from Carolina new to FL
- HOD coming up in 3 weeks; check out the RCs and email Jamie for more info
- FPTA got a subscription to ZOOM, an online video conference service, Jamie used for SSIG and was pretty successful, plans to use for next EPSIG conference meetings, allows PPT!!!
