International Art Symposium on ceramics "Baikal-Keramistika.

Aims and objectives of the international art project "Baikal-Keramistika":

-A platform for the realization of creative potential of artists – ceramicists;

-the development and strengthening of inter-ethnic and international cooperation;

-cultural, philosophical, professional, creative exchange between artists and artisans of different schools of ceramics;

-Shaping of public and cultural interest in the city of Irkutsk and Lake Baikal;

-publication of the results of the project in the media, drawing the attention of a wider audience to contemporary art ceramics;

-creation of highly artistic ceramics;

-search and the introduction of new technology in ceramic art;

-applying and rethinking traditional Russian ceramic fishing technologies to create modern ceramic art;

-the creation of the Museum of contemporary ceramic works, accumulated in the Fund project in Irkutsk area.

Conditions of participation in the open air:

• the project involves professional artists from Russia, working towards "artistic ceramics" (18), students of art universities majoring in ceramics (2 person), professional artists from abroad (5 persons), art critics (4 person). Artists wishing to participate in the project, held a contest for participating. • Project participants may perform work on all categories or only one nomination from each author, one work or composition remains entirely fund the project. The jury selects artwork that will remain in the Fund project. These works will continue to participate in exhibitions, planned project and other exhibitions organized by the Union of Russian and will form the Foundation of the future Museum of modern ceramics.

• Project participants conducted master classes free of charge to other project members on the modalities of a moulding, decoration of ceramics, can hold a video presentation about the creativity and skill secrets;

• Art critics are part of the jury and write articles for the catalog of the Symposium and project site;

• Work Size is limited by the number of clay, the size of kilns;

• Plener in Khuzhir, as well as during the exhibition in Irkutsk can be sold the copyright of souvenirs made of ceramics, you can bring for sale their work.

26 April: a contest among contenders on the submitted works. Competition conducted by independent experts: Victorian artists, members of the Russian Union of artists and art critics. The cost of the Symposium participants.

Is provided:

1. the road from Irkutsk to Khuzhir and back

The participant pays:

accommodation (14 days): • 3-bed uncomfortable room-350 rub. per person per day;

• 2-bed room uncomfortable – 400 rubles. per person per day;

• 2-bed room (with a toilet and a sink in the room) – 500 rub. with everyone in the room.

Food:

breakfast – 200 rub.

dinner – 300 rub.

May stay in his tent in the camp site. Power supply – at the hostel.

Entry fee: 2,000 rub.

Shower: 50 rub. per visit per person.

Accommodation in a hotel in Irkutsk: 850 rubles. per day (3 days) or in the dorm: 400 rub. per day.

Terms of realization of ceramic art Symposium "Baikal-Ceramistika 2013»

June 20 at 9.00- departure to Khuzhir by bus from the train station of the city of Irkutsk;

June 20- July 4: ceramic open air in Baikal. In the programme: work on nominations, Raku-firing,reducing (recovery), a wood-burning pit-Raku, normal oxygen firing, the traditional Russian way of decorating ceramics by immersion in a solution of flour, master-classes on different ways of modeling and decorating for the participants of open air; meeting with shaman, island tour to Cape Khoboy, ethnic music concert "Ètnobit" studio musicians, vargan school wish workshop on playing the Jew's harp. 4 July -departure of participants and the export of jobs to Irkutsk;

5 July – exhibition of the Symposium in the City History Museum.
