What’s the attendance policy?
For a yearlong course, students may only be absent (1) day from summer school for each semester they are enrolled in (for a total of 2 absences in 6 weeks). On the third (3rd) absence, the student will be dropped from summer school with zero (0) credits earned. If the student is enrolled in a one (1) semester course (3 weeks), then the student is only allowed to be absent one (1) day and will be dropped on the second (2nd) absence. Attendance is aggressively monitored and strictly enforced. Violation of the attendance policy will result in a student being dropped from a course with no credit earned.
Please Note: If a pre-registered student does not show up on Day 1, he/she will be dropped after the first thirty minutes of class have passed to make room for students seeking to add the class. Non-WVUSD students must review their school’s calendar in order to ensure that they can meet the attendance requirements, as some schools may not complete their school year before June 5th.
How will I know where my class meets?
Class Rosters (with room numbers) will be posted on the school website (dbhs.org) no later than Friday, June 2nd Rosters will also be posted at the front entrance of the campus for students to view on the 1st day of classes (June 5th). Students unfamiliar with the campus will be able to secure maps as they enter campus on the 1st day of classes.
