Job Description

The Writers’ Block

  • to ensure The Writers’ Block is stocked and well maintained
  • to support workshops as needed both with schools and public
  • to upload children’s writing to The Story Republic website
  • to support at events and hires

The Story Republic

  • to coordinate the Story Republican events
  • to attend events/festivals where needed
  • Collect and collate audience figures and comments
  • Attend and write up evaluation sessions

General work

  • To support and enhance the profile of the work through social media
  • Undertake basic bookkeeping
  • Undertake general office work as needed e.g. maintaining databases, mailshots, ebulletin,

distributing posters

Skills and Person Specification

This post would suit someone who is interested in working in the arts in particular in relation to children, young people and the wider community. This role is essentially a support and stage management role but it could work in tandem with a creative practitioner who is interested in developing their own company and their own performance or workshop practice.

  • Good IT skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organised
  • High level of initiative
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to work in a small busy team
  • Flexibility both with tasks and days worked
  • Ability to pick up new software quickly
  • Interested in the arts and education

Desirable

  • Experience of Wordpress
  • Experience of social media Facebook and Twitter
  • Experience of Adobe Photoshop or other image manipulation software
  • Drivers licence

Conditions of work

Contract1 year

Pay£7.50 per hour or £11, 700 PA

Travel allowance 45p per mile for work related journeys

Holidays 25 days pro rata, plus bank holidays and KEAP Christmas shutdown period.

Hours 30 hours per week

Place of work This role will be based at KEAP’s office at Cornwall College Camborne and also off

site as needed. There is free parking on site.

Driving Licence: This is desirable as well as access to a vehicle but not on a daily basis. There are

good bus connections.
