PG Cert CYP Course Information

Students will be required to:
Attend all classes and face to face supervision in SussexUniversity (See Calendar for dates). Days will run from 9:00am -5:00pm

Please note: Full attendance at each module is expected. There is a minimum attendance requirement of 80% of each module. For every half day missed from each module, the student will need to complete a self-study component demonstrating acquisition of the learning outcomes for the missed session.
Observed Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE): There are 3 OSCE’s during the course. You will be expected to attend university for approximately 1 hour on the following dates to undertake these exams. Practice days will also be offered approx. one to two weeks before these exams but attendance is not compulsory at these practice days.
  • 19th December 2017 (practice day: 6th December 2017)
  • 26th March 2018 (practice day: 14th March 2018)
  • 23rd July 2018 (practice day: 13th March 2018)
NB. There will also be up to three essential training days you will need to undertake. Although two dates have been included on the timetable, they are yet to be confirmed. You will also need to complete some online training.
Attend supervision of 30 hours over the course; it is a mandatory part of the training. / This is likely to require a time commitment of at least an hour per week from January 2018-August 2018 (Initially face to face and then remotely over Skype)
Placements can be arranged through Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. /

  • Orientation to the placement will start in late October 2017

Achieve 90face to face clinical hours in LI interventions with CYP over the course of the programme. / The 90 hours would need to be accumulated between January and August so would equate to at least one clinical day per week between the end of January 2017 and the end of August 2017.
Submit a number of assignments over the course of the programme including written and recorded work. / Module 1: Assessment block 1 (after Christmas)
