This is the 3rd meeting in the framework of two-years project
“InterContexts – Contributions of Civic and Cultural Education in Disadvantaged Local Contexts“. It brings together non-governmental organizations from France, Berlin, Portugal, Latvia and Lithuania, which work on civic education projects, revitalization of neighbourhoods and public spaces. Each of participating organization develops a local project, addressed to a disadvantaged neighbourhood area. Each meeting takes place in the city, where a local project is being developed. The aim of meeting in Vilnius is to learn new tools and methods of working with neighbourhood communities while bringing changes into local neighbourhood practices.

9.30-11.30: Excursion to the wooden part of Šnipiškės (Shinipishkes, eng) neighbourhood. Returning to the venue.

11.30-12.00: Šnipiškės district: mapping a potential of “abandoned” zones for local communities. Competing perspectives. Case studies. Julius Narkūnas (Laimikis.lt)

12.00-14.00: Discussions. Overview of Šnipiškės redevelopment plan with Paulius Jonys (Vilnius Planning).

Day 2 (September 28). Room 216

10.00: Meeting at the venue (Vilnius municipality building, room 216). Introduction to a further program followed by presentations of the partners + discussions.

16.00: A trip to Pilaitė neighbourhood: visiting Beepart platform. It takes 25 minutes to get to the district by mini-bus (reserve metal coins for the journey!)
16.30-18.00: Revitalizing neighbourhood and “activating” neighbors: Beepart case (http://beepart.lt). Visiting Beepart platform and meeting with the initiator of it, Andrius Ciplijauskas. Beepart platform is a temporal building in Pilaitė district.

Day 3 (September 29). Room 216

10.00: Meeting at the venue (Vilnius municipality building, room 216). Introduction to a further program.

10.00-11.00: Local projects in progress: tools, methods, cases, challenges (continuing debates of the previous day).

11.00-13.00: Discussion: Implementing partners’ methods and developing a tool box.

13.00-15.00: Lunch at Muskatas (Konstitucijos pr. 23 A, mob. Tel: 852735891).

15.00-17.00: Overview: “to do” list. Working on local projects profiles and information for the site. Planning bilateral meetings and next common meeting. Calendar. Conclusions.
