Role Overview:
The Learning & Development Associate Consultant will work in the Learning & Development team to address enterprise-wide issues through developing enduring and practical learning solutions that support cultural alignment and achievement of our bold new organisational strategy.
Specifically, you will contribute to learning initiatives in the strategically important areas of innovation, collaboration and leadership, and will utilise leading edge learning methods and technologies. Your work will directly support the achievement of the CSIRO Strategy 2020.
The position is located in either Sydney (North Ryde), Melbourne (Clayton) or Brisbane (Dutton Park) and will be co-located with other members of the L&D team. This access to mentoring and support will ensure your developmental pathway to success.
Duties and Key Result Areas:
- Ensure the customer and organisation’s needs are met.
- Engage with leaders to determine learning and development needs that support cultural alignment and strategy, and developing learning interventions to address these needs.
- Plan and facilitate tailored, engaging and impactful blended learning initiatives as part of a team and under guidance of a Senior L&D consultant.
- Moderate and curate online learning courses and resources.
- Apply systematic evaluation methodology to determine training program effectiveness.
- Develop specifications and interview prospective external program facilitators, designers, and contributors.
- Coordinate the contract process and contractor relationships to ensure effective provision of learning and development services to CSIRO.
- Coordinate the delivery of training, including managing the contribution of internal subject matter experts and leaders, liaising with participants, developing and providing appropriate materials, utilising technology (WebEx, Confluence, SharePoint) to engage participant’s pre and post programs, and connecting participants virtually where required.
- Brief program participants and their leader’s pre and post programs to support the translation of learning to the workplace and debrief participants who have completed 360 degree feedback as part of the program requirements.
- Collaborate across the Learning and Development team and the broader organisation to develop practical, integrated and enduring learning solutions.
- Generate improved solutions to complex problems and resolve complaints using creativity, reasoning and past experience.

Selection Criteria:

Pre-Requisite:
- A degree or higher in Psychology, Human Resources, Management or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and spend multiple days interstate facilitating programs and participating in meetings.
- Experience in planning, designing and executing blended learning initiatives, including facilitation of face to face and online programs, to address customer needs and organisational priorities aligned with the delivery of strategy.
- Ability to convey information and ideas, build rapport to inspire confidence, and sustain a positive outlook.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to plan, monitor and evaluate projects to deliver quality outcomes within specific timeframes.
- A track record of assuming responsibility, achieving work objectives and maintaining high work and ethical standards.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others: establishing and maintaining good working relationships with customers and colleagues; and proven ability to involve others, keep others informed, gain acceptance of ideas and approaches and facilitate goal achievement.
- Experience using Articulate Storyline or similar authoring tool.
- Understanding of LMS functionality and online social learning platforms.
- Experience designing and co-facilitating webinars to deliver learning outcomes.
