XXII SPOLETOSCIENZA

“HARMONIES, ENERGY AND HEALTH”

Ancient chords and new scores

Spoleto, Sala Frau – June 26-27, 2010 – 11 a.m.

Spoleto, Chiostro San Nicolò – July 3-4, 2010 - 10,30 a.m.

Rome, April 22, 2010 – For a nineteenth century physician, taking someone’s pulse meant feeling the rhythm of a body, appraising its physiological balance or the dissonance of a pathological condition. The ancient act of “auscultation”, like today’s recommendation to doctors to listen to their patients, seem to be renewed conquests after the triumphs of techno-medicine. They have certainly been and still are undeniable triumphs but, at the dawn of the 21st century, they must be integrated in the rediscovery of the centrality of the human being, of the patient and not of the disease.

The 22nd edition of Spoletoscienza sponsored by the Sigma-tau Foundation in the frame of Spoleto’s famous Festival of the Two Worlds will once again confirm its central role in our national scientific debate. Following its traditional and successful formula, Spoletoscienza will debate on the most current themes concerning health, medical-scientific research and the medical profession.
