As a council we will be able to voice recommendations and opinions throughout the entire process as we move forward.

Footloose Feedback – Crae Wilson
Is the content of Footloose appropriate for a High School Production?
There was some negative community feedback, especially in regards to the elementary children brought for field trips.
*In the future permission slips should be sent home in advance so that parents can make that choice ahead.
* Junior versions of musicals are always a great option for future selections
Emergency Plan –Crae Wilson
Active shooting drills, fire drills, earthquake drills, bomb threat, hostage plan…
An emergency plan was constructed in 2013 by a committee. There will be a meeting to notify and help instruct teachers on how to handle emergencies efficiently.
*We could create a notice to send out to parents with guidelines on how to talk with families for different emergencies.
Update on Trustland Funds Budget – Crae Wilson
-Chrome books – ??what is the longevity of the chrome books?
*5-6 years. As they become damaged/outdated, we will replace them as needed with trust land funds
-$30,000 for sounds system was taken from capital budget rather than using trustland $
?? How do we project what the Community Council would like to use the money for?

Teachers should have the opportunity to email needs. !0% is allowed to carry over
Volunteers for Reality Town on December 14th
The MHS Reality Town program for sophomores will need 40 parent and community member volunteers on December 14th, from 7:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Please respond via email to Tiffany Caine.

How do we help those with violent or destructive behaviors while we still make learning safe for other students?
2 trainings will be available for staff, and volunteer parents to know how to build relationships and keep safe.
