Officer Bearers / Still need a Treasurer.MW advised that the Treasurer is an elected position from AGM. Volunteer would need to be identified from existing committee. Could we ask for a volunteer from YSE? Concluded that due to timescale, reality is that this will need to wait until the next AGM to resolve.
Julie Rollo indicated at the aborted EGM that that she would like to stand for election to join the committee. Co-opted unanimously on to the committee as a non-voting member.MW/KR to advise Julie she’s now elected & invite to next meeting. / MW

Festival of Sport
20 Sept – 5 Oct 2014 / CM advised CSE website is key to getting sign-ups, instead of one weekend 2014 will have a fortnight of taster sessions & workshops. Linked in with Sports Hubs & Governing Bodies to provide bigger programme. Received a £4,500 Into Sport grant from City of Edinburgh Council mostly to provide coaching/club workshops & support YSE, have a Communications Strategy which links the Festival of Sport in with other major events (Sports Awards 30 August, Commonwealth events (including the School Run at the Queen’s Baton Relay which comes to Meadowbank on 14 June) & 5 Lowland Games local events (an Active Schools Programme) from 29/8).
Helen suggested pushing activities in the press such as the Metro newspaper. CM advised this should be built into the existing Comms Strategy. CM to progress all. / CM
Club Accreditation / CM took views from the Committee & will build these into the website. Progressing well so far.

Club Resource Pack / Helen advised sub-committee has met twice, looking at Clubmark in England, Glasgow Sports Council are using it already & looks better than the Stirling one. CM to find out who/how Glasgow run theirs & would like input from Richard Lord too.
Want to move away from Child Protection title & more towards Welfare & Safeguarding so as fits more clubs. Include School Club links.
Committee suggested would like to include more info on Lothian Disability Sports Clubs & if not within our boundaries, would still like to be able to signpost people elsewhere. Neal & CM to discuss how best to take this forward & include LDS clubs/accessibility.
Helen to progress Club Resource Pack & distribute to Committee for feedback ideally prior to CSE website launch at the end of April although noted that this timescale will be difficult. / CM

Positive Coaching Scotland / PCS is being delivered across the city, co-ordinated by Richard Lord (Coaching & Volunteer Co-ordinator, CEC). Various sports and community sports hubs are being targeted.
2nd Round of PCS delivery for swimming clubs came to a halt, no feedback from 6 clubs involved, larger clubs were positive but nothing from smaller clubs, perhaps some smaller ones are just happy to stay at community club level? PCS slightly misleading title as about club philosophy not just coaching.
Eilidh – the new Regional Swim Development Manager - is now taking this forward. Helen will chase progress of this.
CM was very enthused by 1st Round so thinks we should capitalise on this & communicate better with clubs. CM will chase Richard Lord too to see where it’s at. / Helen
CM
A.O.C.B / Lifetime Awardwinner Jack Snowdon MBE will be presented with his trophy on 6th May at Lothian Swim meeting (already has his certificate). Maggie Bissett Vivien Gourlay will have received their runner up certificates by w/e 30/3. CM to do a press release.

SALSC Membership to be renewed by CM now has signed £97 cheque. MW would like someone to attend SALSC Seminar weekend of 26/27 April. MW, KR, Helen & Jim cannot. CM may be able to. Need to confirm attendee(s) & advise David Laing asap. KR to advise David Laing we will send someone to buy time.
KR to add Finance Figues as Standing Order on Agenda. Currently balances = Current:£2328.43Savings: £2100.16
Need date for AGM. Must be by end of June. Can offer free entry to events later in the year for attendance again & perhaps tie in with a World Cup match? MW may have limited availability due to sporting commitments. MW to suggest dates to committee to fit with him & get date fixed.
Neal gave a brief update & introduction of his role/work. Essentially catching up having recently taken over from Gary Fraser.
CM advised that some Commonwealth Games tickets are available for specific programmes across LA’s, CSE named as a recipient. Can use these tickets as incentives & prizes for events/AGM/Festival of Sport. / CM
