Level: / British Judo Association Level One Competition.
Participation: / Male and Female players who are a minimum of 14 years and older.
Competitors must be members of the British Judo Association, British Judo Council, and Amateur Judo Association.
The event will open to Novices to Blue belt.
Mode: / Players will be weighed in on the day (at the venue) and will be placed into pools of three, four or five with players as close as possible to their own age/weight/grade and experience.
The organizers will, where possible, separate players from the same club.
Medals will be presented after each group finishes on the mat.
Contest duration will be three minutes.
Please note that one Senior Referee may officiate these contests supervising Junior Referees.
There may be Golden Score used to a maximum of two minutes.
There are some special technical judo rules.
Players will not necessarily be penalised for technical infringements; the referee will advise the player regarding the offence. However, if a player continues to infringe, the referee may use their discretion as to whether the player should be penalised.
Conduct against the 'Spirit of Judo' will be penalised.
Coaching is permitted but should mainly be encouragement and kept to a minimum. Referees may ask a coach to reduce their mat side coaching if it is deemed overzealous.
Strangles and arm locks will be permitted.
Weigh-in: / 1300hrs to 1330hrs
Weighing in Policy: / It will be an 'Open Weigh-in'
Male players must wear Judogi trousers when weighing-in.
Tolerance to 0.5kg (500 grams) i.e. 80.5 etc
Female players must ware Judogi trousers and a regulation T-Shirt when weighing-in.
Tolerance of 0.6kg (600 grams) i.e. 70.6 etc.
Contest Start: / 1400hrs approximately.
Entry Fee: / £15.00 pay on the day.
Coaches: / FREE.
Closing Date: / Monday 6th November 2017.
Spectators: / Free.
