Byron Junior High Track & Field Indoor Meet
March 31th, 2016
Participating Schools: Byron, Kasson-Mantorville, Stewartville, PI, Lake City
Meet Schedule: The field house will open at 4:30 pm for warm-up and run throughs. There are six lanes available. Field events will start at 5:00 and running events at 5:15 pm.
Meet Participants: The meet will consist of both girls and boys JH teams from the above mentioned schools.
Entries: Individual events – three (3) per school. Relays – two (2) team per school. We will be running FAT timing. All line ups need to me submitted using Hy-tek software. The line-ups should be sent by Tuesday, March 29th. I will send you a meet file to upload to put your entries in. Line-ups can be sent to . Please try to have your athletes committed to these events to avoid a lot of last minute changes. I have no problem making a few changes, but several changes at the time of arrival adds a lot of last minute work.
Scoring: Team scores will be kept. 6-4-3-2-1 for individual and for relay events.
Entry Fee: $225.00 per school
Track Surface: The track surface is rubberized. However, NO spikes will be allowed. May wear spike shoes, just without the spikes.
Team Camps: Space will be tight, but we should be able to get everyone in in a few designated spaces.
Order of Events:
5:00 Field Events – All attempts are finals
boys high jump starting at 4’6” followed by the girls starting at 3’8”
boys shot put followed by the girls (4 attempts)
girls and boys long jump cafeteria style (3 attempts)
girls and boys triple jump cafeteria style (3 attempts)
girls & boys pole vault starting at 5’
Note: There is only one runway. We will have the LJ and TJ go at the same time with a 4 a live rotation.
Please make sure that your athletes check in immediately at their respective field event(s) and get their practice throws/jumps in. They must notify the event judge when they leave their field event to run. Your athlete should report back immediately to their field event after running. This is especially important in the vertical and horizontal jumping events as we will not hold up the competition for long periods of time. After a reasonable amount of time the bar will be raised.
5:15 Running events – running events will run based on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd call. All athletes should report to the clerk of course by the second call of their respective race.
