Dear Parent/Carer

Christmas Choir Events

What a fantastic School Choir we have this year! We have 53 eager singers attending rehearsals each week and singing as the School comes into the hall for Collective Worship each week. We have had lots of comments from children in the school, and from visitors, about how good our choir are. So thank you to all the grown-ups for allowing your children to attend weekly and collecting them promptly at the end of rehearsals.

We have been approached by various groups to take part in Christmas celebrations. We need to know how many members of the Choir will be attending each event in order to let the organisers know. I would therefore appreciate your prompt reply in order to get each event organised.

The first event is the Christmas Lights Switch On in Spalding town centre. This is on Friday 28th November. At the moment, the times given by the organiser are a bit vague, but it will be approximately 4.00pm – 5.30p.m. The lights are then switched on at 7.00p.m. There are prizes for first, second and third place Choirs, and a goodie bag for each child taking part.

St. Mary and St. Nicolas church, our School’s link church, will be holding a carol singing session at the Red Lion Quarter on Tuesday 9th December at 6.30p.m. This will be for approximately an hour and our Choir will be one of the main parts of the evening.

Finally, we have been invited to sing in Sainsbury’s on Saturday 13th December. They would like us from 10.00pm – 12.00pm, although we may only do one hour. They are waiting for me to confirm, and it will depend on the number of children available to come, whether we do this or not.

Please return the slip below to me by Wednesday 5th November so that I can sort numbers for each event and get in touch with the organisers to firm up bookings.
