ESTABLISHED

Nivas Limited was established in the year 1996 on the 13th Day of September. However, the name “NIVAS” was conceptualized much earlier. The word “NIVAS” was chosen because it clearly represented the business sentiment the promoters had in mind . The promoters wanted the name to represent the products and also the way they wanted the establishment to be organized……just like a “Home”!!!

FOUNDERS AND DIRECTORS

The principal Shareholders and the Directors at inception were Mr. NitinMalde and Mr. Ashok Rupshi Shah. Subsequently, in early 1997, Mr. Sanjay Malde and Mr. PravinchandraMalde actively joined the organization and the Shareholding and Directorship was acquired from Mr. Ashok Shah and thus it became a family business.

CORE BUSINESS

As the name suggests,Nivas deals in all kinds of household products such as utensils, cutlery, kitchenware, made from stainless steel, aluminum, glassware, enamelware, plastic, melamine, ceramic, bone china and opal ware.

Nivas Limited also has some other allied products such as hardware, stationery, bicycle parts, electronic products, sewing machines, home appliances, furniture, toysand decorative items.

Nivas has an established supply chain for all the above product lines spread over 12 countries and 3 continents and networked within are 50 suppliers including the local Manufacturers in Kenya. The average period of association is more than a decade with all the supply chain participants and is continuously growing.

Ware housing and Logistics: Nivas values good business practices and follow the same in warehousing and Logistics as well. Nivas has over 100,000 square feet of constructed and secure warehousing facility directly under their control. The warehouses are spread over entire Kenya to geographically cover the region and make sure that all our products have adequate availability and continuity of supply for the benefit of our distributors, dealers and finally but most importantly our customers. Such an enormous amount of goods held by Nivas also requires an equivalent magnitude of delivery infrastructure and work force. Nivas has more than 20 commercial vehicles of various capacities to cater to the ever changing demand volumes and challenging delivery schedules.

To manage and implement policies we have a very healthy extended family of colleagues under NIVAS. Nivas makes this operation possible by active contribution of over 350 skilled personnel which include 30 senior management personnel manning each and every department of our operations and stationed all over Kenya. NIVAS believes in use of modern technology to enhance the operational efficiency and also has a strong MIS in place.

Nivas Limited has a very strong network of distributors, dealers, wholesalers and retailers engaged in making our goods available to our customers, who are our real associates in our business. Our dedicated team has ensured that all NIVAS products are seen and used in each and every corner of Kenya. Nivas and their associates conduct more than 1000 transactions per day to ensure that our partners…..i.e. the end customer are appropriately served and more importantly is happy and satisfied .

PROMOTION AND MARKETING

NIVAS proactively invests resources in promotional tools and marketing activities. NIVAS Limited has been promoting products using ATL and BTL activities and extensive use of promotional items like gift sets, calendars, pens, key rings caps and T-Shirts.

WAY FORWARD AND FUTURE PLANS, AVENUES OF EXPANSION , DIVERSIFICATION AND INVESTMENTS

Nivas limited and its promoters have an excellent financial standing in Kenya earned over a period of one and a half decade. The accumulated experience and respect that the promoters have garnered over time is being put to good use by having expansion and diversification plans. The current focus shall be on Backward Integration by investments in the manufacturing sector. Nivas has already invested resources in the distribution of automobile two-wheeler segment in Kenya which is a growing market. Nivas also intends to expand its current network of branch associates from seven to 12 spread over East Africa in the next 3 years and subsequently in the sub-Saharan Africa.

Nivas has plans for diversifying into the Commercial Real Estate Market in East Africa with an intention of investing in ENERGY/LEISURE/MEDIA and the HOSPITALITY SEGMENTS. To follow good business practices NIVAS also invest in securities, bonds and other financial products of good repute and standing.

DIRECTOR’S PROFILE

Mr. PravinchandraMalde (KENYAN) - Chairman

Born in 1951 in Gujarat, India, he Engaged in Agriculture Activity as a farmer cultivating his own land in Gujarat till 1997. Thereafter he migrated to Kenya in 1997 and joined NIVAS LIMITED and is responsible for its unique growth strategy. A person of high standing and good repute he is respected and well known in the Asian community in Kenya . Mr. PravinchandraMalde is a visionary and engages in Philanthropy and social welfare activities with great interest.

Mr. NitinMalde (KENYAN)-Managing Director

Mr. NitinMalde was born in 1973 in Gujarat, India. Mr. NitinMalde completed his Higher secondary in the year 1990 from Jamnagar, Gujarat. He claims that his real education began thereafter! Mr. NitinMalde is the founder director of Nivas Group. Currently he manages the company with great emphasis on quality improvement and adherence to good business practices. He has been awarded HIND RATTAN AWARD in 2008 by NRI Welfare society New Delhi . Mr. NitinMalde is known for his active participation in social, cultural and religious activities in Kenya. Apart from various organizational positions he is currently the National General Secretary of the Hindu Council of Kenya and National Treasurer of Inter-Religious Council of Kenya..

Mr. NitinMalde is also very active in business community and is involved in the United Business Association of Kenya.

Mr. Sanjay Malde( KENYAN)- Executive Director

Mr. Sanjay Malde was born in 1975 in Gujarat, India. He engaged in educating himself in India and completed his First Year B.Com in 1993. Being a self-educated person he attempted business in India in the field of textile power looms. He migrated to Kenya in 1996 and is the co-founder of Nivas Limited. Mr. Sanjay Maldeis a very soft spoken person and has a firm grip on the business activities of Nivas Limited. He is a well-known business strategist and is responsible not only the innovations in product s but also innovative ideas for marketing and establishing the brand.

Mr. Sanjay Malde is a very humble and is well known all across Kenya for his helpful nature and is always ready to assist . Nivas Limited has immensely benefitted because of his excellent public relations and practical approach toward every aspect of business life.

Apart from being a good businessman he is also an excellent sportsman. He is currently the captain of Oshwal Volley ball team in Kenya and has won many accolades. In the past he has served on various committees pertaining to sports in Kenya.
