Navigators Newsletter – Rogers-Herr Middle School - Vol. 4 No. 5 – November 22, 2011
It is time for the first set of progress reports. Attached you should find progress reports for all of your core classes. In order to best communicate with our families, we ask the following at this report time:
- Review the reports with your child.
- Pull off all reports and keep them.
- Sign the bottom portion of this newsletter verifying that you have seen reports for Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.
- Cut off signed portion and send in with your child to his/her Core 1 teacher.
Missing Assignments:
If there is a missing assignment on the progress report, it must be made up! We require that all students complete all assignments. Late work will be accepted but the score will be lowered. If your child is absent, it is his/her responsibility to get make-up work.
Important Dates:
November 23-25 – Thanksgiving holiday

S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G Bee
The spelling bee took place during language arts classes on Monday, 11/21. The four top Navigator spellers who will participate in the next level are (in alphabetical order): Kendall Bullock, Alyssa Chen, Adam Nicewarner, and Bryson Satterwhite. Congratulations! Honorable mention goes to Santiago Garcia Mata, Sydney Grissom, and Roxana Prado Martinez. The school-wide bee will be held in January 2012.
Be Prepared!
Please make sure your child comes to school prepared to work everyday. Being prepared means having appropriate supplies: a pencil, binder, agenda and homework (if assigned). Being prepared also means your child has eaten a nutritious and filling breakfast BEFORE school. Kids can’t work if they’re hungry!
