- ANY OTHER BUSINESS
- There was vote of thanks to Martin for hosting the Bonfire night and a vote of thanks to Chris Harris for all his hard work in its preparation and to Rosemary and Trina for providing the soup and provision.
- Chris Harris brought up the safety problems of cars being parked on the narrow road outside the “Shoes”. It was felt that a few people were just being lazy; Chris and Trina Britton agreed to produce a few fliers to put on the offenders windscreens should it happen again.
- There was a discussion about the local area traffic problems. Many of these are already being addressed; as always cost will be a defining factor. There is no further news on Tallington rail crossing. Gritting was requested for King Street. Colin Harrison requested by letter that the white lines on the street corners be repainted.
- There was a discussion about a village party in 2011 but there was a lack of interest. It was, however, agreed that a Diamond Jubilee Party be held in 2012.
- There was continued discontent about Jeremy Flint’s rotting vegetable feed. He has been approached about the matter and said he would look into it. There appears to be no improvement to date. We shall wait a few more weeks.
- The Telephone box did not get a listing because too few listed buildings in the direct vicinity. We await its removal!!
- There was a complaint about the random parking outside Manor Farm at school drop off and pick up times. It was agreed to speak to Angela Flint about this matter.
- The Bus Stop is now marked up as such.
- Chris Harris said that the Stone Stile behind the church was still broken and asked if something could be done to repair it as it was dangerous in its present state. It was agreed that the SKDC footpath officer (Kevin Bromfield) to look at it and recommend a solution. It was also mentioned the pavement between Banks Farm and the Baldwins was impassable. Kevin Bromfield to be approached. There was thanks to Martin T-B for getting the access to the Memorial Field sorted out.
- The plans for 1 Uffington Rd were inspected. There was general approval with the request be made that new material should match the existing building.
- Rosemary Woolley suggested and volunteered to set up a village website. It was agreed to be a very good idea and she got the go ahead.
- It was agreed to request the same precept as the previous year (£300) and that Chris Harris be paid £275 to keep the Memorial Field cut.
- Martin T-B gave a brief over view of the County Council’s financial state.
There being no further business The Chairman thanked those present and closed the meeting at 21:10
