ABSTRACTS
An ABSTRACT contains thefollowing:
- Purpose ofstudy,
- Experimentaltreatments,
- Results (preferably in quantitativedata),
- Significance of findings [Significance levels (e.g. P <0.05) should not be included in theabstract]
- Conclusion.
TheabstractisfollowedbyalistofKeywords:-Keywordspreferablyonesnotusedinthetitle.
Theabstractshouldnotexceedonepage.AuthorsmustadherestrictlytotheformatprescribedintheGuidelinestoauthors.

FORMAT OFPOSTERS
SelectedPostersrelatingtotheCongressthemewillbepresentedattheCongressduringaStudentPosterpresentationsessionanddisplayedthroughouttheCongress.GuidelinesforpreparingprintedpostersfortheCongressareprovidedbelow.Itisimportantthatyoucarefullyreadandobservetheseguidelinesinordertoensurethatyourpostermeetstherequired standards and effectively communicates yourwork.
PRINTED POSTERS(A0)
Scientificposterswillbepresentedonpanelsinthemainfoyer,organizedbyCongressthemeand/ortechnicalsessiontitle:
•Poster panels will be 95cm wide and 242cmlong.
•Each poster will be assigned a unique number which will be posted on the posterpanel.
•Poster board number, location, and days and times to install and remove posters will be communicated topresentersprior to theCongress.
Poster requirements andrecommendations:
•Size: A0 (84 cm x 119cm)
•Portrait (i.e., vertical) orientation only!
•Posters must be inEnglish
Poster content(obligatory):
•Title of theposter
•Full names and affiliations of all authors, including e-mail address of at least oneauthor
•Introduction: a few brief sentences that state the purpose of thestudy
•Methods: a list or flowchart
•Results: Illustrations, tables, figures, graphs, and photos accompanied by a simplestatement
•Discussion: a list or summary paragraph of conclusions
•References: If you feel references are essential, include no more than two orthree
•Illustrations(photos,figures,tablesgraphs)shouldideally dominateyourposter.Theseshouldbeatleast13x18cm.
•Usehighqualityillustrationsofsufficientresolution.Captionsandlabelsonvisualsshouldbereadablefromadistanceoftwo meters. Graphs and figures should be simple - avoid unnecessarydetail.
•Graphs are preferred overtables.
•Avoidtableswithexcessiveinformation.Asaguideline,youshouldconsiderthefollowingquestion“DoIneedtopresentall the information in the table for a reader to understand why I reached the conclusions that Idid?”
Recommended fonts and fontsizes:
•Choose a readable, sufficiently large font, (e.g., Arial, minimum 28 points) for thetext.
•Main title: 100 points orlarger
•Sub-title: 36points
•Main text: minimum 28points
•References: minimum 24points
•Do not use more than two font types!
Usefultips:
•Printyourposteronastandardsheetofpaper.Ifyoucanreadallofitcomfortably,yourtypesizesareright.The smallprint version will also serve as ahandout.
•Choose a column format to make your poster easier to read in acrowd.
•Consideryourtargetaudiencesandsimplifyyourmessageforthosewhodonothavemuchknowledgeaboutyourfieldofresearch! Be brief. Express your ideas in a conciseform.
•Have one clear message and do not try to communicate everydetail!
