Roczen and Anderson Put Dubya USA on Top of the Podium at A1 Supercross Opener
Orange, Calif. - January 7, 2014 - Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen and Rockstar Energy Racing’s Jason Anderson piloted their Dubya-equipped KTMs to the top step of the podium in each of their classes at the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season opener at Anaheim Stadium.
Despite his rookie status in the 450 class, Ken Roczen blasted out of the gate near the front of the pack in the supercross main event on his custom Kite wheelsets from Dubya USA, and rapidly set his sights on the defending champ, Ryan Villopoto. His chance to strike came when Villopoto washed out the front in the sand section, and from that point forward it was Roczen leading the charge all the way to the checkered flag. He set a fast and smooth pace, clearly demonstrating to all that he will be one to watch as the season progresses.
Rockstar Energy Racing’s Jason Anderson claimed his second career 250 class victory after his race-long battle with Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda’s Cole Seely came to a dramatic close in the final two turns of the race, putting his custom Talon wheelsets and Galfer braking system from Dubya to the test with an aggressive pass for the win that had the entire stadium on their feet. His win in Anaheim will grant him the coveted red plate for the first time in his career going into Phoenix.
