Subject: / Common Final Request

I/We request to be allowed to give a common final in quarter and year> for course and section numbers. Students will be allowed to make other arrangements if their schedules conflict.

My preferred day for the common final is 7:10-10:00pm on <final day/date. If my room reservation cannot be accommodated on that day, my second choice is <final day/date>.

I would like to request <number> room(s) to accommodate <number> students in or near <room/location preference>. (See examples below.)

Example #1: One room to accommodate CPE 101-01, 101-02 and 101-03 for a total of 87 students.

Example #2: Three adjacent rooms in/near bldg 10 (32 students each) for MATE 210-01, -02 and -03.

Please note:

·  Common Finals will normally only be approved if one or more instructors are teaching three or more sections of the same course and would like to give the final for all sections at the same time.

·  Common Finals may be requested for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, 7:10-10:00pm, of Finals Week. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred exam date. However, assignments are made based on the number of requests we receive for each term, and we cannot predict availability for a specific day or room.

·  Requests should be received by University Scheduling before the fifth week of classes. Common Finals are normally not arranged prior to that time due to changing class needs early in the term.

·  Confirmation emails will be sent after all requests have been accommodated.

·  Final Exam schedules are available at http://www.ess.calpoly.edu/_records/Calendars_Deadlines/

·  University policy on Final Exams is available at http://www.academicprograms.calpoly.edu/academicpolicies/Final-exams.htm
