Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a Special Assistant to the Executive Director who is extremely organized, is a team player, strategic thinker, detail-oriented, a self-starter, and committed to LCCR’s mission. The Special Assistant to the Executive Director creates capacity for the Executive Director to focus on the most critical aspects of her job. The Special Assistant will have a wide range of responsibilities, including project management, developing and implementing office wide systems, preparing presentations and providing personal administrative support.

Description of Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights
Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area (Lawyers’ Committee) was founded in 1968 and works to advance the legal rights of communities of color, low-income people, immigrants, and refugees. Assisted by hundreds of pro bono attorneys, Lawyers’ Committee provides free legal assistance and representation in civil legal matters through direct services, impact litigation, policy advocacy, and public education.
Overview of Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Regular duties on an ongoing basis include the following, in addition to other duties that may be assigned:
· Provide general administrative and organizational support to the Executive Director including managing the Executive Director’s calendar, files, routine correspondence, and anticipating next steps and issues.
· Work with the Executive Director to create systems to manage her workflow and schedule.
· Prepare presentations, talking points, and other support for internal and external meetings.
· Design, organize, and implement office-wide systems to manage files and data.
· Manage special projects as needed by the Executive Director and LCCR management team.
Overview of Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
· BA degree with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
· Microsoft Office Suite: demonstrated proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Experience developing and implementing organizational systems.
· Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
· A commitment to LCCR’s mission.
· Pro-active, problem solver, organized, detail-oriented, and energetic self-starter.
· Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
· Project Management experience highly preferred.
· Knowledge of Salesforce highly preferred.
· Previous experience supporting an executive level position in a non-profit setting preferred.
· Willingness to make a 2-year commitment to the position.
