MPI (This Unit – 3rd Quarter): At the end of this unit, WIDA students will be able to define, identify in textual use, employ is analysis/discussion of textual material, and infer meaning/effect of the following technical language of language arts (aside soliloquy, monologue) by small and large group reading and writing activities using practice sheets and graphic organizers, with oral sharing, then demonstrating mastery on quizzes/tests/benchmarks.

(2) Writing Warm-up: While teacher takes attendance, students will build/reinforce writing skills through journal writing in response to prompt on board. 3rd Period will be introduced to the DEAW words of the week: DEMAND and CIRCUMSTANCE (SOL 12.6);
(3) Vocab Unit 11 --- students will be introduced to the words of Unit 11. Complete Ex. 2 on pg 127. Sharing follows (SOL 12.3)
(4) WRITING: (SOL 12.6, 12.7, 12.8)
2nd PERIOD: Mrs. Gillie may provide additional instruction/commentary pertinent to the current
persuasive/research paper.
3rd PERIOD: Mrs. Robinson will provide instruction on MLA method for providing in-text documentation of
quoted/paraphrased material.
(5) Literature/Drama --- Macbeth – Students will review what they know of the structure of a Shakespearean tragedy, then predict what must occur in Act III. With assigned roles, begin dramatic reading of Act III – pgs 382-398. Identify the Turning Point. How has Macbeth changed? How has his relationship with Lady Macbeth been affected? How are things now going wrong for Macbeth? (Falling Action) (SOL 12.4, 12.3, 12.1)
