SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Eligibility Requirements and Guidelines

  1. Applicants must be a member of Allen Temple Baptist Church for a minimum of one year prior to the date of the application.

Verification of Allen Temple membership is required with the application.

Your membership will be verified by the Scholarship Committee through the Allen Temple membership database. Please ensure your online church membership profile is updated and accurate by going to or by contacting the Church Clerk’s office ().

  1. Applicants must be under the age of 25.
  1. Applicants must provide proof of graduation from high school or completion of a GED.
  1. Applicants must be a full-time undergraduate student or a full-time student pursuing a vocational certificate. Full-time enrollment is a minimum of 12 units/credits per term.
  1. All scholarships are disbursed in two installments. Scholarship funding is dependent upon the availability of church scholarship funds.
  1. New Applicants/Continuing Recipients may apply for awards up to three (3) years if attending an accredited junior college or vocational school or up to five (5) years if attending an accredited college or university. A combination of the two cannot exceed five (5) years.
  1. An appeals process is available to any applicant who is not granted an award. By letter to the Scholarship Appeals Subcommittee, an applicant may set forth any and all extenuating circumstances which would warrant additional review or reconsideration of his/her application. Decisions of the appeals subcommittee are final.

  • Completed and certified 2017-2018 Scholarship Application
  • Current senior portrait photograph (.img, .gif, or .jpg files only; sized at 400px or smaller)
  • Copy of your final high school transcript.
  • Proof of graduation from high school (copy of diploma) or completion of a GED.
  • Personal Essay – In 250 words, please share how being a member of Allen Temple Baptist Church has impacted or helped you. Include your educational goals, how you plan to achieve them and how you will use the scholarship to support your educational needs.
  • Current college students who are first time applicants must also provide a copy of your college transcript.

Eligibility Documentation – Due September 30, 2017

  • Proof of full-time enrollment (a minimum of 12 units/credits per term) at an accredited college, professional or vocational school. A certified document from the school’s registrar is required.
  • Current contact information (i.e. home address, school address, phone number and e-mail address).

Submission Criteria

  • Please review your completed application and maintain a copy of all application documents for your records.
  • All documents need to be in electronic form and sent as email attachments.
  • Enter your name in the “Subject” line of the email.
