Introduction of the Department of Journalism, the School of Communication and HKBU
Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) encompasses eight Faculties/Schools offering a range of undergraduate programmes, associate degree and higher diploma programmes as well as taught postgraduate programmes and research postgraduate programmes leading to the award of master and doctoral degrees. It has gained a reputation as one of Asia’s finest institutions of higher learning.
The School of Communication was founded in 1968. This year marks the 50th anniversary. Within its four-year undergraduate curriculum, it offers three choices including Film, Journalism, and Public Relations and Advertising.
The Department of Journalism’s undergraduate programme covers everything from multiplatform professional skills and big data to media theory, law and ethics. It nurtures and builds creative, critical and analytical thinking skills, and graduates fill many leadership roles in the media industry.
