AP BIO Unit 1: Biochemistry and Energy
The focus of Unit 1 is on basic chemistry and the role that it plays in metabolic processes. The general message of this unit refers to the AP Biology “Big Idea” of biological systems utilize free energy and molecular building blocks to grow, to reproduce, and to maintain dynamic homeostasis.
- Review all information covered in the AP Biology Summer Assignment. This information can be found in Chapter 2 and 3 of your textbook. You will be able to use your summer assignment to assist with the quiz.

Unit 1 Test: ___
For this test, you must make notecards for your review method and submit them on the day of the test. They will count for 5 points of your test grade.
Preparing for the Energy Test. For this test, you will need to create a series of outlines breaking down the Chapters and emphasizing the important parts. If there is a method that you find particularly beneficial to yourself you may do that, but you still must complete an outline to turn in on test day. This outline will count for 5 points of your test grade. Make sure that you understand the concepts covered in all labs.
