Directly responsible to:Headteacher or their authorised deputy
Responsibilities
- To provide accurate data for senior leadership team and for official data returns
- Ensure SIMS products maintained and updates completed
- To manage exam entries liaising with teaching staff
- Produce individual entry statements and timetables for pupils
- Download exam results in August and run relevant reports
- Organise and run exams within the school
- To be responsible for the Assessment Manager module
- To manage the school diary
- To manage the Headteacher’s diary
- Keep school website up to date
- Ensure school policies are maintained
- Collate and oversee Health & Safety returns
- Provide general admin support as required
- Contribute to the overall aims/ethos of the school
- Attend any training courses relevant to the post
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Organising exam materials, providing safe custody of and organisingexamination stationery and materials, including question papers, inaccordance with regulations.
- Organising the examination rooms, in accordance with regulations.
- Providing a centre timetable to include dates, times, venues andnumber of candidates.
- Resolving examination clashes in accordance with regulations.
- Briefing candidates on examination regulations and producing writtenguidelines for staff and students; ensuring candidates are aware of theirown examination timetables.
- Collecting and despatching worked scripts in accordance with theregulations.
- Arranging invigilation, including briefing and training invigilators inschool procedures.
- Being present and available in school on the days when results arenotified, and overseeing the distribution of results to candidates.
- Producing analyses of examination results as soon as practicable.
- Providing statistics on examination entries and results for theheadteacher, senior management team, governors, LA, DfES,etc.
- Checking DfES and other examination statistics before publication.
- Overseeing the checking and distribution of certificates.
- Processing enquiries about results and requests for return of scripts.
- Encouraging a positive examination culture in the school to which allstaff and students subscribe.
- Liaising with the National Assessment Agency and ExaminationsOfficers Association as appropriate.
- Keeping up to date with the requirements of the role. Ensuringattendance at appropriate awarding body and other INSET training, meetings, etc and keeping up to date with the latest procedures andregulations for external examinations.
- Making arrangements for internal examinations, including theproduction of the timetable, rooming and invigilation.
- Any other reasonable duties as commensurate with the grading of thepost.
- Be responsible for the management and supervision of invigilators
- Be able to maintain confidentiality.
