2. / Annual Review of College Committees – Purpose and Function of committee and membership /
- The committee agreed that it could do a better job about sharing with the college community what the BSCC is accomplishing, which is related to Function Statement #4.
- The suggestion was made that the BSCC make recommendations to the Student Preparation and Success Council of the Academic Senate instead of to the Curriculum and Instruction Council as it currently does.
- The committee agreed that the order of the function statements needs to be changed and that function statement #4 should be divided into two separate statements.
- The membership will be updated to include new members and new terms for membership.
3. / Call for reapplication of proposals- Draft /
- Dr. Nixon approved $400,000 to be given to the Basic Skills Initiative from the college’s categorical reserves. This is a onetime allotment.
- The BSCC will fund projects from categories #1 and 2 at a 30% cut. Only a few other projects will be funded from the other categories at a 30-50% cut.
- Glenda will revise the Call for Reapplication of Proposals document and Sally will email it to only those project managers whose projects will be funded in 2011-2012. Sally will include a cover letter indicating the amount of proposed funding. Sally will send the email on Monday, May 2nd.
