Members present: Jerry Erdmann, Sandy Steinke, Rosetta Stern and Arlyn Tober.

Members absent: Marlin Noffke.

Others present: Grant Bystol, John Hoeffs, John Gutho, Kathy Sumnicht, Steve Borroughs, Tom Madsen, Diane Rusch and Darcy Smith.

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order by Tober at 7:32 a.m.

Approval of Minutes:

Motion by Steinke, seconded by Stern, to approve the September 9, 2013 meeting minutes as presented. Erdmann, Steinke, Stern, Tober, all yes; Noffke absent.

Motion to Deviate:

Motion by Steinke, seconded by Erdmann, to deviate from the agenda if necessary. Erdmann, Steinke, Stern, Tober, all yes; Noffke absent.

Department Budgets:

§  Administration: Motion by Tober, seconded by Steinke, to tentatively approve the Administration budget as presented with changes to the insurance budget. Erdmann, Steinke, Stern, Tober, all yes; Noffke absent.

§  Highway: Discussion on the Highway budget and the amount that is above what would normally be requested due to the Highway J project. Motion by Steinke, seconded by Stern, to fund $229,075 of the Highway County Roads and Bridges budget from the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance. Erdmann, Steinke, Stern, Tober, all yes; Noffke absent.

§  Printing: Motion by Tober, seconded by Erdmann, to tentatively approve the Printing budget as presented. Erdmann, Steinke, Stern, Tober, all yes; Noffke absent.

§  Civic Center: Request for Assistance in the amount of $6,000 was presented. No action taken. (Steinke left at 8:28a.m.)

§  Sheriff: Motion by Erdmann, seconded by Stern, to tentatively approve the Sheriff budget at $5,752,446. Erdmann-yes, Noffke-absent, Steinke-absent, Stern-yes, Tober-yes.

§  Jail: Motion by Tober, seconded by Erdmann, to tentatively approve the Jail budget at $3,698,966. Erdmann-yes, Noffke-absent, Steinke-absent, Stern-yes, Tober-yes.

§  Maintenance: Motion by Erdmann, seconded by Noffke, to remove $7,084 from the Maintenance Courthouse Outlay budget. Erdmann-yes, Noffke-absent, Steinke-absent, Stern-yes, Tober-yes.

2014 Budget:

§  Motion by Tober, seconded by Stern, to fund $45,000 of the remaining budget from the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance. Erdmann-yes, Noffke-absent, Steinke-absent, Stern-yes, Tober-yes.
