Responsible to: Outdoor Learning Officerat Walthamstow Wetlands
Located at: London Wildlife Trust sites
Report to Oversight Committees:London Wildlife Trust site teams, London Wildlife Trust reserves team.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Deliver outstanding, effective curriculum linked outdoor learning sessions targeted at school children
- Deliver best practice teaching and learning to all groups, including family learning sessions and forest schools
- When required, be the first point of contact for teachers, community groups and educators, organising taster and twilight sessions to introduce new groups to LWT's outdoor learning programmes and outdoor spaces
- As directed by the Regional Development manager, work with relevant stakeholders including community members, local authorities and landowners to trial the delivery of outdoor learning sessions at London Wildlife Trust sites (that have not been used for this purpose before) and other suitable green spaces;
- Ensure all resources and equipment are kept in good order
- Carry out site and activity risk assessments as required, and complete workday records as required.
- Assist LWT site and project staff with the development of trainees, and other Trust staff, volunteers as required.
- Record, monitor and evaluate sessions, including keeping up to date records on the Skipper database.
- Collate monitoring and evaluation information, contributing to reports for funders including HLF.
- To assist with managing the day-to-day enquires and bookings.
- To ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and legal requirements, including Child Protection andWorking with Vulnerable Groups & Security procedures.
Other areas of responsibility:
a)Promotion of the Trust: To work at all times to further the aims of the Trust including promotion of Trust membership. To encourage donations and to assist in and promote related events and campaigns where appropriate. Ensure The Trust’s policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
b)Health and Safety: All staff are legally responsible for ensuring Health and Safety considerations are taken into account in all working situations. Staff are encouraged to make reports or suggestions on any matters of concern.

Salary: £11.11per hour dependant on skills and experience
Hours of work:Variable days per week including some weekend working
