During your winter experience, you are required to complete assignments from the menu options below.

Capture the Moment
Take or find a series of five photos which capture what it is like to live in Jackson County during a winter storm. The size of your pictures must be equivalent to a 4x6 photograph. Each picture must be accompanied by a caption which includes the who, what, when, where, and how for the picture. In addition, the collection of pictures must include a catchy title. / Explode the Moment
Write a narrative in which you share a moment that you will remember for many years. Your moment might be humorous, descriptive, monumental, frustrating, etc. Remember to use vivid word choice and figurative language to create imagery for your reader. / Feature the Moment
Write a feature article about the winter storm that might appear in the local newspaper. Remember to cover the who, what, when, where, why, and how in your article. Use techniques that make expository writing effective.
Hot Topic Response
Watch the news and pay particular attention to a current event that’s of controversy. Write a journal entry that summarizes the story and then present your side of the argument. Use argumentative techniques taught in class. / Wild Card
This is your chance to be creative. You may use any genre of writing for this topic. However, use the techniques and strategies that have been taught in class for that specific genre. / Movie Critique
Watch a movie of your choosing. Write a critique of the movie. You must include a star rating of no less than one (horrible) and no more than five (fantastic). Justify why the movie deserves this rating. Use persuasive techniques to enhance your writing.

1-2 days absent………. Choose and complete one activity.

5-6 days absent………. Choose and complete three activities.
