It is with great pleasure that we are announcing the 5th National Pelvic Floor Symposium, on Friday April 11th 2014, under the auspices of the Continence Foundation of Ireland.
We are proud and excited to offer a truly world class program. Professor Linda Cardozo will talk about OAB and Botox and we will have live surgery performed by Mr. Tom Creagh, Consultant Urologist, Beaumont Hospital with Professor Cardozo moderating. We will also have training simulators for Botox administration for delegates to practice on. To anybody with an interest in Urogynaecology, Professor Cardozo needs no introduction, such has been her contribution to the field. She has been President of the International Urogynaecological Association, Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Women's Health and Section of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Royal Society of Medicine. She was the Founding Chairman of the British Society of Urogynaecology, Past Chairman of British Menopause Society and of the Education Committee of International Continence Society. She is currently Co-Chairman of the World Health Organisation International Consultation on Incontinence, and has sat on numerous committees including the Council of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
We will have a cadaveric workshop with anatomical prosections and a laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy performed on a fresh cadaveric specimen by Professor Tony Smith, Manchester University and St. Mary’s Hospital, Manchester. Professor Smith is known to all in the field of Urogynaecology as one of the pioneers of laparoscopic prolapse surgery. He has been President of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and Chairman of the International Collaboration on Incontinence committee researching Surgery for Incontinence in Women.Professor Smithis currently Vice-Chairman of the British Society of Urogynaecology.
Dr. Gerry Agnew, Consultant Urogynaecologist National Maternity Hospital, Holles St and St. Vincents University Hospital, Dublin will talk about surgical anatomy. Dr. Agnew was involved in the organisation of the Cadaveric Anatomy Workshop in Trinity College Dublin at the IUGA meeting in 2013.
There are only 50 places available and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Evening Programme
The evening programme on Friday April 11th will consist of a drinks reception at 7.30pm followed by dinner at the River Lee Hotel.
Accommodation
Accommodation is available and must be individually booked at special rates in the River Lee Hotel Cork, located on the Western Road about 10 minutes walk from the city centre and 10 minutes drive from the Maternity Hospital. A limited number of rooms, which are very comfortable, are available at a special rate of €120 per night single occupancy, Bed and Breakfast. Location
The Anatomy Flame Laboratory is located in the Western Gateway Building on the Western Road.
Cork University Maternity Hospital is located on the campus of Cork University Hospital at Wilton. It is accessible from the South Link Road. There is paid underground parking beneath the maternity hospital and in the grounds of CUH.

Registration
A registration fee of €325 must be paid in advance to secure a place (cheques payable to Continence Foundation of Ireland). The evening programme (drinks reception and dinner) will cost €50. A CME register and certificates will be supplied on the day.
