This year the Order of St Asaph will be presented at an open ceremony in the Cathedral in connection with Evensong at 6pm onMonday 3rdOctober. Those receiving the Order this year represent a cadre of lay people who have given outstanding service to the diocese in so many different ways. All are warmly encouraged to support these, our friends and dedicated colleagues, as we give acknowledgement for their contribution to our common life. Those being admitted this year are:

Lectionaries at the Diocesan Conference - Manna Christian Bookshop will have a bookstall at the Diocesan Conference at St Joseph’s School, Wrexham on Sat 8th October and will be selling the Church in Wales Lectionaries. This year Lectionaries are available in Welsh £6, English £6 or Bilingual £7.50, Manna Bookshop is pleased to offer a 15% discount on any pre-orders submitted by Fri 30th September. Please place your order with Manna by emailing the email please include your "Name", "Church Name or Area", "Contact Phone No" and "Number of Welsh, English or Bilingual Lectionaries", you will then receive an email confirming your order and the cost. St Tecla’s Church, Llandegla 150th Anniversary celebrations

“Festival of Flowers” in St Tecla’s Church 23-25 September. Church open on Friday, 12-8pm, Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 11am-4pm. Tea and coffee available Friday and Saturday. There will also be a Celebration Service on 25th September with The Bishop of St Asaph Preaching. Details on the poster circulated previously.

“Come and Sing the Songs of Redemption” - Saturday, 24th September at 7.15pm in St John’s Church, Station Road, Old Colwyn LL29 9PW. With Peter Fawcett at the piano and Quentin Bellamy at the organ, plus special guests. All welcome. Refreshments to follow. Poster circulated previously.

Marchwiel Church Fund Raising Event - “Michaelmas Fayre” on Saturday 24th September. 2–4pm at the Piercy Hall. Something for everyone. Cakes, preserves, produce, crafts, cards, plants, fancy goods, tombola, games, BBQ. Poster circulated previously.

St Martin's Church, Eglwysbach:Gift Day Saturday 24th September. The Church will be open between 10am and 4pm to receive Gifts of Money in exchange for a cuppa. During this time the Parish Records, from 17th Century to the present time will be available for scrutiny, so come along and look for your Ancestors.

Open Doors event at Meifod Church, 25th September:This year in Meifod we've arranged a programme of three talks in the church, starting at 2pm:

  • Dr David Stephenson will talk about Meifod and Mediaeval Powys,
  • Dave & Frances Ward will talk about David Evans, a 19th century Shrewsbury stained glass maker (his glass is everywhere, including Winchester College Chapel and Meifod Church),
  • The organist, Dr Malcolm Clarke, will talk about and play the historic Meifod organ.

Eglwys Sant Pedr Llanbedr DC Gosper yn Gymraeg - Dydd Sul 25ain Medi 3yp yn Sant Pedr. Croeso i bawb. / St. Peter’s Church Llanbedr DC Welsh Evensong - Sunday 25th September; 3pm in St. Peter’s. All are welcome.

A Welsh harvest festival will be held at St Cystennins church, Mochdre on Sunday 25th September at 3pm. Members of the community are invited to attend this wonderful service be they welsh speaking or not. A warm welcome will be extended to all who attend and the hymn singing will be beyond compare.

Memory Cafe at St Giles' Parish Church Wrexham (revised dates):

First meeting: Tuesday 27th September at 1pm and then every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month.

North Wales Ignite is a fun, relevant event for young people across North Wales. For our fourth year running we will be in the Scala Cinema, Prestatyn on the 30th September this year, starting at 6:15pm. Our aim is to connect young people in the area with each other whilst encountering God in different ways. There will be performances from Christian rapper Joey G and local rock band The Identity. Headlining will be the world renowned Christian DJ Galactus Jack who has been a huge hit in previous years!

Mental Health First Aid 12-13 October in the St Asaph Diocesan Office. Two day course, 9.30am-4pm. Most people don't know what to do in a mental health crisis. Take the course and you will be one of the few who knows what to do and is confident about putting that knowledge into action.Numbers are limited to just 14 so early booking is encouraged. Monmouth Diocese is holding a vocations conference in Abergavenny on Saturday 18th February 2017. The conference will have a panel of speakers from a variety of ministries (monastic, lay, pioneer, ordained, and chaplaincy) and it would be a useful day for anyone exploring vocations to attend the day to hear the panel (who will be looking at the areas of vocation, faith and spirituality through the lens of their particular ministry) and have a chance to ask questions. Breaking the Boundaries Conference at St Mark’s Church, Aberystwyth. Led by Rev Dr Jeremy Duff, the Principal of St Padarn’s Institute, on the theme of ‘Church life in Mark and Acts’. The first session will be held on the evening of Friday 21st October, and continued on Saturday 22nd October. The cost is £25.

Sexuality and Anglican Identities Project at the University of Chester, Department of Theology and Religious Studies (funded by the Church Universities Fund). Information and Marketplace:

The Organ Donation Wales campaign, is looking for case studies of people from different faith group communities in Wales who have organ donation stories to tell.

Research has shown that some faith group communities have a notoriously low engagement / understanding of the new organ donation system in Wales and the need to opt in or opt out. As part of our communications activity, we want to find case studies of people of all ages from these communities who have:

Discussed their organ donation decision with loved ones

Been a living donor (of a kidney)

Or been a donor recipient of an organ

Or have been touched by organ donation / transplant through a loved one or close friend

The purpose is to use their stories to inspire more people across these communities to make time to talk about their organ donation decision with those closest to them. We would want them to tell us their story, send a good quality photo of themselves and then we’d use their case study on the campaign website; on social media in November and in their local newspaper.
