The resource material you are reading is prepared to facilitate the successful implementation of Early Education Development Program me (EEDP) in DAV Schools across the country. The objectives envisaged are to enable the teachers to
a)gain knowledge of contents of checklist comprising curriculum areas, concepts and skills thereof, which need to be developed in children and assessed on a regular basis.
b)know the purpose of designing checklist which is an integral tool of continuous and comprehensive evaluation.
c)learn that the statements under each area are behavioral objectives (milestones). For instance, first behavioral objective of Language Skills is that each child Listens with understanding, follows directions or instructions, learns sound blends ‘ee’ – ‘th’ (lessons 4-9 of My English Reader) use of ‘in’, ‘on’, ‘under.
d)devlop understanding of appropriate methodologythat caters to all the curriculum areas keeping in mind individual needs and style of each child. Games and activities for achieving behavioural objectives are warm ups, aerobics, Self made ( for lessons - 4-9) flash cards, stories, Songs, fun with words, Questioning, PPTs , Chinese whisper, Placing Game using real objects, Team oriented outdoor games, songs and rhymes.

-Chinese whisper- Teacher will make all the children sit in a circle. One child will be the ‘leader’. He/she will whisper a message to the child sitting next to him. For example ‘Neha sees geese and feeds them with seeds.’The child will whisper the same message to his/her neighbor and so it continues. The last child will speak out the message loudly. The leader will decide whether the message is right or wrong. If it is wrong, then, each child will repeat the message he/she has passed on to find out where the message has changed. The child who changed the message will be out of the game.

Continue this process till each child attains the desired milestones. Analyze observations at the interval of each month till the end of term.
