Catalog Description:

Current and research issues in global information technology management. Topics include: global IT environment, planning and management, global architectures, application development, transborder data flows, and cross-cultural issues.

  • Compare and contrast the various forms of global organizations.
  • Address the managerial challenges in using and managing IT and EC worldwide.
  • Examine the role of culture in the application of global IT.
  • Comprehend the complexity of the global IT environment.
  • Analyze issues related to the Internet and global electronic commerce.
  • Examine issues related to global supply chain management and global process engineering.
  • Elaborateand evaluate various global IS outsourcing alternatives.
  • Evaluate planning, management and strategy issues related to global information systems.
  • Formulatestrategies for the design and development of global information systems.
  • Examine best practices in global system development.
  • Evaluate various global IT architectures and their pros and cons.
  • Distinguishissues related to transborder data flows.
  • Identify and evaluate potential researchable areas in Global IT.
  • Conduct literature analysis on a suitable research topic.
  • Prepare topic analyses of "researchable" ideas suitable for dissertation research.
