INTERSTATETRAINING INFORMATIONSHEET

TRAVELSUPPORT

AsmallnumberofAustralianApprenticeshipsqualificationsarenotdeliveredbyanyACT RegisteredTrainingOrganisations(RTO)andAustralianApprenticesmusttravelinterstateto undertaketheiroff-jobtraining.Thisisusuallydeliveredinblocksoftimeratherthanthe usualonedayperweekandiscalledInterstateTraining.

EligibleAustralianApprenticesareentitledtoacontributiontowardsthecostoftraveland accommodationtoassistthemtoattendoff-jobtraininginterstate.Thefundsarecredited directlybyelectronicfundstransfertotheirbankaccount.

EligibleAustralianApprenticesarepaid$70.00towards travelcoststoSydney. Iftravelisby air(toNewcastle, BrisbaneorMelbourne only)apayment of$444.30ismadetoassistwith airfare. A daily allowance of $30.00 is made to assist with living expenses. Students travellingtoSydneyreceivethedailyallowanceforthedaypriortocommencementof training.Airfareswillbepaidin advanceonreceiptof awrittenrequest.All othersupport fundsarepaidafterattendanceattrainingandonsubmissionofacompleted‘Applicationfor Interstate Travel AllowanceTravelSupport’form.

Whenattendingoff-jobtraininginterstateAustralianApprentices arerequiredtomaketheir ownaccommodationarrangementsandbookings.Usefulwebsitesforbudgetpricesare:

NON-ATTENDANCEATOFF-JOBTRAINING

Attendanceatoff-jobtrainingisanessentialpartofapprenticeship training.IfanAustralian Apprenticeisinreceiptoftravelsupportanddoesnotattendhe/sheisrequiredtorefundthe fullamountofanymoneypaidinadvance.
