Introduction to Code Changes & Forms

Program Purpose

Participants in this training will be introduced to a series of forms developed by the SUBSTANCE ABUSE ASSESSORS OF OKLAHOMA (SAAO). These forms have been designed by SAAO and meet the requirements of changes in Chapter 22of the Oklahoma Administrative Code effectiveJuly 1, 2005. There will be an overview of changes to Chapter 22.

Program Objectives

Participants completing the training shall be able to:

  • Identify changes in Chapter 22 OAC related to use of the SAAO forms.
  • Identify the clinical process in the ADSAC assessment.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the clinical ADSAC assessment process.
  • Complete all forms presented correctly.
  • Outline the appropriate use for each form within the clinical process.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate use for each form.

Faculty

James Patterson, CADC, is the founder and Executive Director of Specialized Outpatient Services, Inc. in Oklahoma City, OK, which provides drug screening, DUI, early intervention, extended outpatient, and intensive outpatient substance abuse services to adults, adolescents, and families. Specialized Outpatient Services, Inc. has gender specific programs for women, men, and specific programs for families, and adolescents. James is a certified substance abuse (ICADC) counselor, certified case manager, DUI instructor, DUI assessor, and ASI trainer in the state of Oklahoma and has been working in the field of chemical dependency since 1988. James has worked with adolescents, adults, and families in the areas of outpatient, inpatient, long-term residential and ½-way house settings.

Ray Caesar, LPC, CAADC, has a Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is currently Criminal Justice Services Manager for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. He also oversees a loan program for the Oxford/Sober Living Houses and is the State Methadone authority.

Seminar Fees

Participants are admitted at no charge. Registration to attend only a part of the training will not be accepted. Completion of this training will be required in order to continue to provide ADSAC assessments.

Those individuals needing this training have been invited. There is no need for pre-registration. Walk-up registration the day of the presentation is expected.
