Title: Senior Manager, Banking Projects Classification: Business Leadership
JOB OVERVIEW
To provide consultation, business and process analysis, professional expertise, and coordination in the delivery of consulting and project management services specific to Banking and Cash Management, Treasury Division, Ministry of Finance.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Manages and implements projects related to the development and implementation of new and strategic revenue collection and payment processing tools for stakeholders across all government, through all phases of the project management life cycle within accepted standards and deliverables
§ Deliverables include project scope and plan, project charters, consultation plans, communication plans, deployment plans, project evaluations, and post-implementation reviews
§ Engages branch staff for specific research in their respective areas of expertise
§ Requires collaboration with banking service providers, third party service providers
§ Requires research into new payment and disbursement technologies as they are brought to market
§ Requires collaboration with experts within or external to government on issues related to projects under development
§ Requires the preparation and delivery of presentations relating to project progress to senior departmental staff across government
· Manages the deployment and maintenance of various branch Knowledge Management strategies
§ Includes responsibility to develop initial Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) framework
§ Requires development of a program to maintain up-to-date SOP through regular and formalized engagement of branch staff
· Networks with colleagues from across government to gain information on trends and opportunities
§ Accountable for acquiring working knowledge of stakeholder business and banking needs
§ Conducts ongoing communication with ministry stakeholders to ensure an understanding of ministry programs and resolution of issues related to deployment of new banking services
· Participates in special projects or assignments
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· University degree, diploma
· PMP designation or equivalent
· Minimum five years’ experience as a business analyst or project manager or both combined
· Experience with LEAN methodologies is preferred
· Experience in banking, finance is preferred.
· Experience managing multiple internal clients.
· Experience handling multiple priorities concurrently.
· Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).
