TURF GRADUATES & SUMMER INTERNS
Oak Pointe Country Club is owned and operated by Club Corporation of America and was established in 1992 and consists of two prestigious golf courses. Oak Pointe takes pride in being the top rated club in Livingston County for nearly two decades. The club has a state of the art practice facility, including: a full driving range, practice putting green and a short game practice facility. The Championship course was re-designed in 2002 by architect Jerry Matthews.
The Intern will work closely with and under the direction of the Director of Golf Course Maintenance, Honors Course Superintendent and Championship Course Assistant Superintendent. The duties include, but are not limited to:
*Performing daily inspections of the golf course
*Leading course projects
* Crew scheduling
* Performing and keeping records of all agronomic practices, such as chemical and fertilizer applications, top dressing, etc.
* Irrigation operation, maintenance, and repair
* Daily course maintenance, I.E. Course set-up, mowing, hand watering, etc.
An ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and qualifications:
* 2 to 3 years of golf course experience
* Enrolled in or recently graduated from a 2 or 4 year Turf Program
*Passionate, Enthusiastic and a "STAR Service Attitude" to "Exceed Member & Employee Expectations
*Uncompromising attention to detail
*Strong organizational and leadership skills
*State of Michigan Applicators License or able to obtain before starting internship
*Knowledge of irrigation repair (not required, but preferred)
