Teen Camp Information
Ages – Teen Camp is for kids who have completed 7th through 12th grades.
Bedding – A sheet is required by law to cover a mattress, even if using a sleeping bag. Please send bedding for a twin-sized bed, as well as a pillow. Campers will be charged an additional $10 if the campground has to provide linens of any kind.
Check-in – Check-in is from 2:00 to 3:00 on Monday, July 24th. Within 24 hours prior to arrival at Lake Williamson Campground, campers must undergo a brief head lice check and fill out a lice check form (available at nwilnaz.org). Upon arrival, campers must turn in the head lice check form, in addition to any medication (including over the counter drugs). Campers will be given their cabin assignments and directed to the appropriate cabin.
Check-out – Check out is on Friday, July 28th at 1:30, after the lunchtime meal. Drivers who are coming to take campers home should arrive by 1:15. Campers will be checked out of their cabins by then.
Housing – Campers will be split into groups – 7th & 8th grade boys, 7th and 8th grade girls, 9th – 12th grade boys and 9th – 12th grade girls. Each cabin will have two counselors and approximately 6-8 campers. Each cabin has bunk beds, in addition to toilet, sink and shower facilities. Campers may request to be housed with a specific camper or counselor, but requests cannot always be granted.

Medication – All camper medication, including vitamins and over-the-counter drugs, must be turned into the camp nurse at the beginning of camp. All medications should be placed in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag and labeled with the camper’s name. All medication must come in the original packaging (no pill boxes) and should include a note listing the dosage amounts and frequency of dosage for each medication.
Nurses – There are two nurses on staff whose sole purpose is to tend to the health and well-being of the campers and staff. They are responsible for distributing medication as needed, as well as administering basic First Aid. In the event of any severe illness or injury, campers will be taken to a hospital to be treated. Every effort is made to contact parents to acquire their permission and keep them updated on the camper’s situation.
Payment – While registration will be handled online, all payment should be submitted to your local church. Churches who are providing scholarships to their campers can collect money from each camper, then make one check payable to NWIL Teen Camp and mail it in to the camp registrar (info below). All payments are non-refundable after July 10th, 2017. We reserve the right to restrict registration numbers with regards to space.
Price – The registration fee is $300, but campers registered before June 25th will receive the early registration fee of $260.

Registration – Registration should be completed online at nwilnaz.org. Once completed, parents should submit payment to the local church, along with a copy of the front and back of the camper’s insurance card and the signed Eagle’s Crest liability waiver. Registration is not complete until these items have been submitted. Space is limited, and campers are accepted on a first come first served basis.
Rules – This camp is organized by the NWIL District Church of the Nazarene and we do our best to adhere to its Biblical principles and seek to impart these vital truths in all we do. We have the best interest at heart for our youth and want God’s best for them in this week of camp. Therefore, the following guidelines are respectfully required of each camper and participant:
· Campers are expected to stay with their assigned cabin or group and to listen to and show respect to all Lake Williamson and Teen Camp 2017 Staff at all times.
· Fireworks, sparklers, knives, tobacco, drugs and alcohol are not permitted.
· Radios, MP3 players, laptops, tablets, DVD players & CELL PHONES are not permitted.
· Campers may not make phone calls expect with the permission of the camp director
· No food or drink is allowed in the dorms, gym or worship area
· State regulations require that mattress be covered with a sheet, even if using a sleeping bag.
· Campers are expected to participate in all scheduled activities, including meals, sports, and chapel.
· Immoral conduct, vulgarity and profanity will not be tolerated. Teasing, bullying, and fighting are not allowed and may result in the immediate removal of the camper from camp.
· Appropriate, modest play clothes and shoes are needed for camp – no dress clothes please.
· A modest swimsuit (one piece only for girls) will be needed for water activities.
· Please leave all valuables at home.
· To help maintain a safe camp environment, the following policy has been adopted: Except for ministry staff of our local churches (Pastors/Associate Pastors/Youth Pastors/Children’s Pastors or Directors and/or Ministry Leaders) of our local churches, no teens or adults who are not current campers or workers of Teen Camp 2017 without prior approval from the Camp Director.
· If a camper chooses not to be a part of the scheduled program and or disobeys the rules, you will be expected to provide immediate transportation home.
Snack Shop Money – While there is ample food provided at meals, campers will have the opportunity to visit the Snack Shop where they can purchase ice cream, nachos, candy, drinks and grill items, in addition to souvenirs. Parents may send additional money for their child to spend at the Snack Shop. Campers typically spend $5 per day at the Snack Shop.
Staffing – Each district church sending campers is required to send one counselor for every four campers they are sending (1-4 campers = 1 counselor, 5-9 campers = 2 counselors, etc.). Assistant counselors should be 18 – 21 years old. Lead counselors should be 22 and older. All counselors must complete the online volunteer registration and have a background check run, in addition to completing an online sexual abuse training by June 30th, 2017. Staff fees – Each district church sending campers must pay a $40 counselor fee for each camper they are sending. If your church is unable to pay this fee, please add the $40 to the cost of camp for each camper you are sending from your church.
Visitors – To help maintain a safe camp environment, no visitors are allowed to visit Lake Williamson Campground during Teen Camp, with the exception of ministry staff from our district churches (pastors, youth pastors, children’s directors, etc.).
Talent and Theme Night – Wednesday Night: Talent Show. For the talent show, come prepared with needed resources such as CD, iPod, music, script, etc. Thursday Theme night: Express Glow Party.
Transportation – Need a ride? Contact other Nazarene churches on our district to inquire.
What To Pack – Luggage should be limited to one suitcase per camper. Please pack siblings separately, and label everything you send with the camper’s name.
· Clothing – clothes to wear for day time activities, cool evenings, chapel (two outfits per day are strongly recommended) *No tube tops or spaghetti straps are permitted
· Required medication
· Modest swimwear – Swimming trunks and one-piece bathing suits are required, or shirt to cover a 2-piece suit.
· Pajamas
· Old shoes (at least one pair with closed toes required for ropes course)
· Towels (one for shower, one for beach)
· Bedding for twin-sized bed and pillow including a sheet
· Toiletries (shampoo, soap, deodorant, sun block, bug spray, etc.)
· Trash bag for wet clothes
· Snack money
· Water bottle
· Bible, notebook and pen
