2229DISCUSSION WITH THE POLICE
Members had been circulated with details of the latest crime statistics. With reference to the ASB in Glenmore Park, it was noted that no reports had been received from members of the public, therefore, an appeal was made for any incidents to be reported to the Police via 101, rather than on social media, as this could not be recorded.
Cllr D Horn advised the meeting that she had been a victim of verbal abuse and did report it to the Police.
Invitation to Town & Parish Council Event – 6th September 2017 at Leicestershire Police Headquarters RESOLVED that Cllr J Lennie attends as representative of the Town Council.

The question to be raised is “what exactly is the S106 Police budget being spent on in Shepshed, bearing in mind that Shepshed no longer has a permanent police vehicle or much of a police presence”.

2233REPORT OF THE ESTATES & RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 26TH JULY 2017

2148, 2138 Ingles Football Club The Clerk advised, that following a meeting of the Football Subcommittee it was agreed to arrange for Ingles FC to give a presentation to the Council on 11th October 2017.
2149a) Tree Works It was RESOLVED to authorise for the following tree works to be carried out:-
Adjacent to 31 Quantock Rise – Fell one multi stemmed Lime tree that’s encroaching over the adjacent property, also crown lift to 4.0m the other two Lime trees that are blocking the footpath and hanging low over the adjacent property = £675 + VAT
48 Countrymans Way - Crown lift one Ash & one Sycamore to 3.0m to clear the adjacent property by 3.0m = £295 + VAT
2149c) Cemetery hexagonal building roof – Additional quotation Members had been circulated with a copy of a secondary quotation received for the cemetery roof. It was RESOLVED that the Clerk clarifies if there is any guarantee attached to the works. The first quotation comes with a 10-year guarantee.

2151 Allotment Managers Committee meeting The Chairman advised the meeting that she had judged the allotmentsand the Phil Cross Trophy presented to this year’s winner.

2235PLANNING APPLICATIONS RECEIVED
The following planning applications had been received and it was RESOLVED to forward comment to CBC’s Planning Department as detailed:-
P/17/1026/2 Alterations and extensions to existing feed plant AT Lindum Mill, Ashby Road East – Request that any flues be sited away from residential areas. Also, there is still an on-going problem with noise and smell being emitted from the factory, therefore, can the Environmental Health Department be involved and made aware of this.
P/17/1549/2 Erection of 1 no. dwelling with associated access, parking and landscaping AT land between 64 & 66 Brick Kiln Lane – Express concern that this is outside of the permitted development and Shepshed already has it’s 5 year land supply.

a) The NCS Team at the EBP – Thank you Also NCS Celebration Event It was RESOLVED that Cllr M Roberts attends the Graduation on Wednesday 23rd August at Loughborough University.
b) CBC – Allocation of street naming and numbering to 270 new dwellings AT Land off Hathern Road It was RESOLVED to submit the following names to CBC, however, advise them of the 9 which are preferred:- Swift, skylark, kingfisher, robin, kestrel, mallard, pheasant, heron & goldfinch (preferred). Other names submitted, lapwing, woodpecker, swallows, starling, sparrow, wagtail, falcon & wren.

c) CBC – Charnwood Design Awards 2017 RESOLVED to submit the Wander Garden Nature Reserve under the Landscape category.
d) British Legion – RBL Lamp Post Poppies RESOLVED to consider purchasing enough poppies at £3 each, to be erected on the lamp posts and War Memorial railings.
