Each year WAISC highlights regional scientific efforts that are being done across western Alaska and provides a form for people to share knowledge, methods, best practices, and data.
Organizers welcome submissions from all individuals and organizations concerned about western Alaska.
This application is open to all UAF undergraduate students enrolled in UAF classes, with the exception of students still in high school.
Steps to apply for WAISC/URSA Travel grant
1) Conduct research and collect data on a topic of concern to western Alaska that is supervised by any UAF faculty member.
2) Write and submit an abstract to the WAISC organizing committee before the stated Deadline. Please indicate on your WAISC Abstract that you are applying for the URSA travel grant.
Also fill out the attached WAISC/URSA travel Application stating that abstract is under considerations at WAISC.
3) Submit your completed application to Tara Borland ()
4) When your abstract is accepted by WAISC for a poster or oral presentation, the WAISC/URSA committee will rank your application for potential funding. Awards will be announced by March 6, 2015.
