2016 Summer for Sickle Cell Science Program= a chance to learn, explore, and gain hands-on experience in a medical research laboratory for up to three students each summer. Applicants must be current high school junior or senior and at least 16 years old. Pick up application in Mt. Healthy Guidance Office. Deadline: March 14th
ACAP-OHIO Accounting Career Awareness Program- an innovative career-development program designed specifically for minority high school students. During the week-long campus residency program, a select group of students have the opportunity to explore careers in the area of accounting and business. 2016 Martin W. Essex School for the Gifted and Talented Otterbein University Residential Camp- This residential camp will feature daily workshops and seminars as well as evening field trips and events. Dates are June 19-25th. Visit website at:
Camp Neuro/ Camp Cardiac- 1 week summer day camp open to all high school students at least 15 years or older. Although Camp Neuro’s primary focus is on career and maintenance of the brain as well as psychology, it provides an excellent starting point for careers in the field of medicine. George Washington University Pre-College Program- Make the Nation’s Capital your classroom. George Washington University offers both a College Intensive Program 9 for credit) and a Summer Immersion Program ( non-credit). 2016 Summer for Sickle Cell Science Program – Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is offering current high school juniors and seniors an eight week program to learn, explore, and gain hands-on experience in a medical center research lab environment for up to 3 students each summer. Fellowships begin with an orientation on May 31st or June 6th and last for eight weeks. Must be 16 years old, have a strong academic achievement and an interest in the sciences. ACAP Ohio Accounting Careers Awareness Program- A Program designed specifically for minority high school students. It is a week-long campus residency at The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business in Columbus. If selected you receive free room and board, materials, tours, and mentoring. National Institutes of American History and Government- Spend 3 weeks at the College of William & Mary pursuing the history of American men and Women. You will visit the places they lived, observing the things they touched, and immersing yourself in their stories as told by historians, archeologists, and interpreters.
