Please Note: We do not have a shelter; all of our animals are housed in foster homes. If you are approved for a dog, a time will be scheduled when you can meet the dog in the foster parents' home or we will bring the dog to your home for a visit.
If this Application is satisfactory to Heavenly Creatures:
1. A volunteer will contact you to commence the interview process (which begins with a phone screening of all adults in the home). A second volunteer may do a second phone screening with you within 24 hours or so.
2. If all goes well, you will be given an appointment to meet a dog or dogs, if there are any in our care who you are interested in that we agree might be a good match.
3. If the meeting goes well, you can take the dog then and there for atrial adoption under a foster agreement (A trial of a week, or sometimes more, allows all involved to attempt to ensure that this is the right match).
3. A volunteer will do a home visit after the trial period (and sometimes before), at which time – if the dog is deemed by us to appear happy and healthy-you will pay the adoption fee and sign our adoption agreement.
Heavenly Creatures attempts to match each animal to a family that most suits the needs of that animal. We sometimes receive numerous applications for one particular animal, so if you are not selected we will keep you on file in the event another, similar animal becomes available.
