We’re so glad you and your little one(s) came to join us today!
Westmead Possums playgroup is a Playgroup run by members. We are part of Playgroup
NSW. This provides us with public liability insurance and many other great benefits. As a
part of Playgroup NSW, we are also part of Holroyd Parramatta Zone of playgroups.

The aim of Westmead Possums is to provide a welcoming, safe and fun play-space
for your child(ren) while you have the opportunity to grab a cuppa, talk to
another parent, or spend time playing with your little one(s).
We have some structured times during Playgroup. Every week, everyone brings along
a piece of fruit for your child(ren) as the shared morning tea. There is a roster that
schedules each member to take turns at providing morning tea/snack and fresh milk for
the other parent/carers. This person usually instructs the children at a craft activity on the
same day. We also ask that the person bring a couple of books to read to the children at
the end of the session, to keep the kids occupied whilst we clean up and pack away.
What we offer:
For the little ones:
- An indoor playspace with room to move, jump and make noise
- Toys that nurture imagination, fine and gross motor skills, and co-ordination.
- Toys for babies, toddlers and preschoolers
- A craft or ‘messy’ activity such as playdough
- The opportunity to socialise and form friendships with other children
- baby changing facilities
- ride on toys
- Outdoor covered play area that is targeted to up to 5yo, that includes swings, slide,
seesaw and climbing ropes.
- A structured outing once a term for children & parent/carer, that is sometimes financially
subsidized by Playgroups NSW - Holroyd Parramatta Zone.
For the parents and caregivers:
- Tea and coffee
- Shared morning tea
- A chance to engage with other parents and carers
- Occasional social evenings just for parents

Session Times
Mon: 10:30 am – 12:30 noon
Sessions are held during school holidays as well.
Sessions are not held on public holidays, if they fall on Monday.

Annual Fee to Playgroup NSW of $39 this covers insurance and comes with other
benefits too.

PLUS
$40 per family per term (4 terms per year - fees due at start of each term)
Fees go towards room hire, purchasing new toys, subsidised outings and craft supplies for
Westmead Possums, as well as going toward our end of year Christmas Party. If you have
any suggestions regarding potential toy purchases, please speak to a Coordinator.

Roster
Westmead Possums is truly a group effort, and not a day-care. As such we expect
parents and carers to stay and look after the children and help set-up toys and furniture at
the start of the session and stay and pack up at the end of the session.A roster is available from the Co-ordinator which outlines who’s turn it is to run the craftactivity and bring morning tea/snack for parents/carers, however if you would like tocontribute further, please talk to our Coordinator.
