PCHP for Family Child Care

Participation Agreement

As a family child care provider participating in the Parent-Child Home Program for Family Child Care, I understand and agree to the following:

  1. I will be at my center site for my two scheduled forty-five minute sessions a week. If I lead a group-family child care site, I understand that I, as the lead provider, must participate in all sessions, even if my assistant is also participating.
  2. I will try to limit interruptions during these scheduled times and will arrange the daily schedule so the children and I areable to participate in the full 45-minute sessions. I understand that The Parent-Child Home Program for Family Child Care policy prohibits the Early Learning Specialist from being left alone with the children in my care.
  3. I will keep pets in a room separate from where the sessions are held. I will turn off the television and radio for the sessions.
  4. I will contact my Early Learning Specialist when I cannot keep a scheduled visit. I will leave a message at the Parent-Child Home office if I cannot reach her/him directly.
  5. I will take care of the program materials and have them available for each visit. I will use the program materials with the children in my care during the week.
  6. I will participate as a learning partner with my Early Learning Specialist so that, together, we can design literacy and learning activities toenhance the development and school readiness of children in my care.

Asa PCHP Early Learning Specialist, I understand and agree to the following:

  1. I will visit you at your site twice a week, according to our schedule.
  2. I will arrive on time for these visits, unless there is an emergency, in which case I will contact you.
  3. I will bring a new book or toy at no cost to you, which you will get to keep. I will share many ideas with you and we will work together as learning partnersto implement activities that will enhance the development of the children in your care.
  4. I will provide books to the children in your care to bring home with them.
  5. I will provide necessary materials for you to use for any art, music, or movement activities that are implemented.
  6. I will provide guide sheets for you that will highlight enrichment activities and conversation opportunities related to the books and toys I bring.
  7. I will support and encourage you to implement your own early literacy activities for the children in your care.
  8. I will always respect your privacy as well as your role as the primary caregiver and teacher for the children in your care.
