Centralis Scholarship Competition at CMU: Saturday, October 29th on the Central Michigan University campus. Students with a GPA of 3.7 or higher and a 27 ACT or 1280 SAT or higher are encouraged to compete for the Centralis Scholarships. Award amounts range from $2,500 to $5,000 per year. The Explore Eastern Open House is a great way for high school and transfer students to learn about EMU and how an Eastern education can create a path to your future. All students attending Explore Eastern can apply for admission FREE of charge—a $35 savings.

An open house at the Macomb University Center on Thursday, Oct. 20, 4:30 to 7 p.m., can answer high school students’ questions about how they can continue their education close to home. Currently 12 colleges and universities offer bachelor degree completion (60 or more college credits required) and master degree programs, as well as a doctor of osteopathic medicine, at the University Center on Macomb’s Center Campus in Clinton Township.

Voice of Democracy Competition ~ Open to students in grades 9-12. The Voice of Democracy is the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. The theme for this year: My Responsibility to America. To apply, record your original 3-5 minute essay on a standard cassette tape or CD on this year’s theme. The Prudential spirit of Community awards program: The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards were created in 1995 to recognize students in the middle and high school grades who have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. National Co-Op Scholarship Program ~ Students are encouraged to apply for the ninth annual National Co-op scholarship.
