1. Objective:
- To outline the guidelines that define “Work from Home” arrangements to perform Company work, including setting out entitlements, eligibility criteria and other conditions that apply.
- To provide a clear approach for dealing with “Working from Home” (“WFH”) arrangement.
2. Applicability
This policy is applicable to employees/consultants/trainees of British Orient Infotel Private Limited (BOIPL).
3. Eligibility Criteria
- Employees in production, operations and support teamare covered under this policy
- Employee to ensure minimum of 8 hours of work, when on WFH option
- Employees who are serving Notice Period and on probation are not eligible
- TLs and above are eligible based on team / account performance trend
4 Criteria for Approval
In determining employee’s eligibility WFH, the following criteria will be considered:
- Production staffs who can work unhindered in any location with all necessary infrastructure
- Capability to work independently
- Target to remain same as inhouse
- Allowed for those who are working / residing within India
5 Options
- short Term
Every employee is eligible for 2 days a month. This can be availed only on an emergency not as a regular practice.
- Long Term
Long term work from home option will be dealt case to case basis and would require multiple approval process till COO
6. Terms of Working
- Till team leader level, this Option is applicable based on written mail approval by Production Manager or Department Manager.
- From Production Manager till AGM should get approval from General Manager till two days of work from home option. Beyond two days they have obtain 2 (two) level approval including COO.
- The Company may withdraw the WFH option of any employee, without assigning any reason.
- Any extended period without approval will be treated as Loss of Pay (LOP)
7. Employee Responsibilities
- Must clock 8.0 hours as per schedule & productivity/ basis shift hours, as agreed with Reporting Manager.
- Must attend to official calls and be accessible over the phone.
- In case of long term WFH option, every 15 days, employee shall mandatorily attend office in person and meet location HR & Reporting Manager. Any deviation will be seriously viewed and may lead to cancellation of WFH option for the defaulting employee.
- While on WFH, employee should always ensure that the “Code of Business Conduct” is adhered. Any deviation from the Policy would lead to disciplinary action including not limited to Termination.
- All tasks like reviews, meetings, and sending mails/reports should be done as per timelines.
8. Reporting Manager Responsibility
- Reporting Manager to ensure laptop and own internet connection are available with the Employee, before approving “WFH option”
- Reporting Manager to ensure that the employee is working minimum of 8.0 hours and achieving agreed productivity.
- Reporting Manager to ensure deviations are recorded and shared with HR.
. Security of Assets and Information
The employee availing WFH option shall ensure Security of Company Assets and information. The responsibility shall be equivalent to the standard as applicable to any Company physical location. The employees shall be responsible for ensuring data protection and prevention of unauthorized access by anyone else.
