GENERAL INFORMATION:

- Awards will be presented at a banquet on the evening of October 6, 2016, at the Sheraton Four Seasons in Greensboro. If the nominee is selected to receive this award, it is the responsibility of the nominating agency to provide the necessary transportation and lodging for the nominee.
- One electronic (e-mail) copy of the complete nomination package must be received by the NCWorks Training Center, Attn: Jonathan Snow at ,no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016. Late nominations will not be accepted.
EMPLOYER CATEGORY NOMINATION CRITERIA:
Nominations not in compliance with all specifications will not be considered:
- Nominations must be for accomplishments and activities during July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016.
- Nominees must meet the following criteria:
Demonstrate involvement and commitment to workforce development community in NC.
Give back to their community.
Provide a quality workplace for employees through opportunity for training, employee benefits, volunteer encouragement, and professional development.
Demonstrate willingness to hire targeted groupsdislocated workers, persons with disabilities, youth, former offenders, veterans, etc.
- Note: The size of the business will be taken into account when reviewing nominations, as the scale of accomplishments and potential for contributions may vary based on this factor.
A WORKFORCE SERVICE/PROGRAM DEFINED
For the purpose of the nominations for the Governor’s NCWorks Awards of Distinction, a workforce service or program must focus on career development, employment, and job training. Examples may include the following:
