V. TWO READING ITEMS, FIRST READING – NO ACTION
a. NEW PROGRAM:
1. AS-T, Physics
The AS-T Degree in Physics was presented for first reading by the Committee. It was noted that math courses listed as requirements for the degree (MAT-3B, MAT-3C) had not been reviewed since 2007 but were, in fact, aligned with the C-ID descriptors. LaVerne Cook requested by formal motion that the degree be considered for approval without a second reading. This motion would need a 2/3 majority of membership votes to pass.
Motion: MSFailed (vote: 7 ayes, 1 nay, 2 abstentions) to modify the agenda to allow approval of the Physics AS-T Degree with a single reading.
