THE GOLDSMITHS’ CENTRE FOUNDATION PROGRAMME

2018/19 APPLICATION

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

We are primarily looking for people aged between 16 and 19 years of age to apply for the Goldsmiths’ Centre Foundation Programme. You will be required to attend the Goldsmiths’ Centre between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please take this into consideration when making your application.

GCSE grades at C or above in English and Maths would be preferable but not always essential. Please contact us to discuss your options if you do not currently hold this level of qualification.

Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications are invited provided you can demonstrate your abilities in other ways such as through sketch books or a 2D / 3D portfolio of your work.

The deadline for your application is Sunday 6 May 2018.

TWO DAY ASSESSMENT PROCESS

If you are shortlisted you will be invited to come and see the Goldsmiths’ Centre during June. You will have the chance to view the facilities and meet the team who will be supporting you throughout your time with us.

During these two days you will participate in various practical and academic exercises. This is so we can evaluate your aptitude, abilities and flair whilst also allowing you to demonstrate your accuracy and willingness to learn. Artistic merit and your abilities at solving practical problems are also important.

We will expect you to talk about yourself, your hobbies, your experiences and whatever you think it is important for us to know about you.

You must bring along a portfolio containing any previous coursework or hobby time activity that you feel demonstrates your ability to draw, sculpt, model or make. We will consider work in any media.

We will provide all that is needed for the two day assessment process and you will be expected to attend from 10.00am until 16.00pm on both Thursday 31st and Friday 1st June 2018. During this time we will give you and your parent or guardian a tour of the facilities and answer any questions you may have.
